The Jones Frontier 2.0 Splitboard continues to evolve with redesigned Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0, featuring adjustable compression so you can maintain a tight, reliable board connection season after season as your splitboard naturally breaks in all while having a smaller footprint than the original clip. Built for riders chasing smooth progression in every zone of the backcountry, this approachable all-mountain splitboard blends confidence, float, and effortless control into one versatile shape. From first tours to deep powder missions, the Frontier 2.0’s forgiving tapered directional design keeps every turn feeling intuitive, surfy, and impossibly smooth.

Rocker Type:

Directional Camber/Rocker: This profile is built around camber under your foot, giving you powerful edge hold, precise response, and confidence at speed. The nose features rocker that lifts the contact point for smooth turn initiation, effortless float in powder, and improved maneuverability in deep snow.

Flex:

Flex Rating: 2/5 | Friendly and Playful

Forever Flex: All Jones boards are broken in using specialized machinery that mimics extreme riding use to help stabilize the flex and rocker profile of a board for it’s lifetime.

Shape:

Medium 3D Contour Base: 3D Contour Base tuned for all-terrain featuring 4mm spoon bevel in the nose and 0 to 4mm spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts just before contact point. 3D Contour Bases are designed to make every run smoother and every turn more effortless by reducing the drag of the board tips. 3D Contour Bases enhance glide and improve float helping you ride faster and with better flow

Low Tapered Directional Shape: A tapered directional board has a shape where the tail is narrower than the nose, providing enhanced control and stability in deeper snow. This design improves floatation in powder and allows for smoother turns, making it ideal for freeride and backcountry riding.

3D Flip Tips: Enhances float and grip while reducing tip catch in rough terrain.

Blunt Nose: “How a board glides in powder, crust, corn or any snow more than an inch deep is dictated by it’s front contact point and just past it. Next time you are in soft snow watch how much snow comes over the corner of the nose near the contact point. The billowing snow coming out from behind the tip means you are plowing through it which is obviously slowing you down. By adding a blunt nose you get the float benefits of a much longer nose without the ‘snow plow’ rounded tip and it’s extra swing weight.” – Jeremy Jones

Quick Tension Tail: Built-in climbing skin tension system using pre-cut notch that eliminates the need for a traditional skin tail clip

Progressive Sidecut: At the far ends of the sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.

Rockered Tail: A touch of rocker in the tail makes the board easier to release out of turns, adds playfulness, and enhances maneuverability. The lifted tail brings a looser, more surfy feel when slashing or pivoting in all snow conditions.

Core:

100% Responsibly Sourced Woodcores: All Jones woodcores are made with responsibly sourced wood. Every piece of wood we use in every board comes from a responsibly managed forest.

Control Split Core: Ultralight dual density wood core made primarily out of responsibly harvested Paulownia with pockets of Poplar that offers standard setting durability, pop and response.

Laminates:

Biax Fiberglass: A dual-direction, dual-layer, stitched fiberglass laminate that provides a fun, forgiving and snappy ride.

Sidewalls:

Recycled ABS: ABS plastic is one of the necessary evils of snowboard production. Jones improves the sustainability of their snowboards by using only recycled plastic.

Base:

Sintered 8000 Base: Premium sintered base material that’s ultra fast, highly wax absorbent, easy to repair and proven to be one of the most durable and long lasting base materials in the industry.

Edges:

Medium Traction Tech: Like a serrated knife slicing into the snow, Traction Tech improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of your board.

Recycled Edges: Bombproof steel edges made from recycled German steel, engineered for maximum strength and long-lasting durability.

Topsheet:

Premium Eco Topsheet: Durable and scratch resistant bio-plastic topsheet made from castor beans that’s engineered to provide exceptional abrasion and impact resistance while minimizing environmental impact.

Additional Features:

Durabond Bio-Epoxy [27]: A bio-based epoxy made with 27% plant-based carbon that reduces CO₂ emissions by 33% compared to conventional petroleum-based epoxy. Sourced from plant-based industrial by-products, its unmatched bonding properties deliver industry leading durability and performance.

Boltless Bridge: The Boltless Bridge eliminates split clip attachment hardware from the base of the board by re-profiling the wood core at the clips. The wood core under the clips is thicker providing better torsional stiffness and a more powerful connection at the split clips.

Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0: New for 2027, Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0 are lighter weight, clamp tighter and have a smaller footprint than the original Ultra clip. They are adjustable so you can maintain even compression as your splitboard ages.

Karakoram Tip Clips: Karakoram Tip clips made with durable ABS that swing closed and stay tight.

Factory Tuned: All Jones snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go right from the shop to the mountain.

Wend Natural Wax: Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with WEND natural wax.

100% Responsibly Sourced Woodcores: All Jones woodcores are made with responsibly sourced wood. Every piece of wood they use in every board comes from a responsibly managed forest.
